The Association of Language Testers in Europe
Cambridge ESOL is a founder member of the Association of Language Testers in Europe (ALTE) and works closely with organisations, schools and academics throughout the world to support the development of language testing in theory and practice.
Cambridge ESOL and Cambridge Assessment

Cambridge ESOL is part of Cambridge Assessment, a department of the University of Cambridge and a not-for-profit organisation. The Cambridge Assessment Group incorporates three awarding bodies, each having its own area of specialism:
- University of Cambridge ESOL Examinations (Cambridge ESOL)
- Cambridge International Examinations (CIE)
- Oxford, Cambridge and RSA Examinations (OCR).
Cambridge Assessment plays a leading role in researching, developing and delivering educational assessment across the globe. It provides academic, vocational and skills-based tests and qualifications to 8 million learners in over 150 countries every year, as well as a variety of assessment services to governments worldwide.
